Interactive Learning Resource Topic: Developing a Growth Mindset
Identify components of the Interactive Learning Resource that might be missing (e.g., appropriate outcomes, alignment, interactivity, inclusivity, technology use and rationale, presentation, grammar, spelling, citations, etc.).
For technology use while Zoom and breakout rooms are great in theory, I have seen through personal experience how facilitating meaningful discussions in breakout rooms can be difficult. Will this activity be helpful if you cannot ensure that students are actually answering the questions or completing the group activities (Lesson 2,3, etc.)? With an online resource some inclusivity issues may arise for certain abilities if they face difficulties using technology or contributing in a setting like this, often sharing a group you have never met before can be scary and may limit their abilities to learn. For an English language learner, it may be difficult to contribute to some of the group conversation as well. |
Provide a summary of The Interactive Learning Resource’s strengths and weaknesses. Draw out specific examples from your peers’ work to justify your feedback.
Strengths: The clear and thorough definitions for all the constructs. The layout of the resource and lessons is very cohesive and clear. The flow of topics makes sense. Weaknesses: Clearer examples of where course aspects are being addressed (interaction, alignment, etc.), |
Provide general, specific, and practical recommendations to your peers on how to improve their Interactive Learning Resource.
Overall, I was very impressed with your Learning Resource and thought it was well done, if I had to change one thing, I would try to find alternatives to Zoom breakout rooms as often their intended purpose is difficult to facilitate when students are alone and the educator cannot check in easily or help. Negative feedback is more helpful than positive, but I had difficulty finding major areas that needed improvement. |
