Michelle’s Blog (opened.ca)

Michelle is a member of my pod and we are creating a resource together. I really enjoyed reading about the open pedagogies approach as I found many similarities to the inquiry-based approach I researched. Some of things these two approaches have in common are being student lead, fostering lifelong learning and being flexible to situations and individual learners. I think using either of these approaches when creating our Learning Resource would be beneficial because of these elements. They focus on putting the power into the student/learner and allow them to explore what they want and how they want to learn. I like the emphasis on the collaborative aspect of the open pedagogies design, many brains are always better when one and they allow for new ideas to be shared and examined. Teamwork makes the dream work!
